Visitation

Visitation is an important part of the Care Ministry at St. James. There is no substitute for being together, friend to friend. When we are sick or lonely, the comforting presence of a caring friend brightens the day. We experience the love of Jesus when we read favorite scriptures out loud or hold hands to say the Lord’s Prayer together.

The apostle Paul expressed the love of Christian friendship when he wrote,

“I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because you hold me in your heart, for all of you share in God’s grace with me, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1: 3-8)

On the third Tuesday morning of every month, the Evangelism Committee of St. James conducts services at Belle Estates and Judy’s Assisted Living in Belle Fourche. Residents and parishioners alike enjoy the worship service with beloved hymns and scripture readings.

St James is grateful to have an active group of “Parish Nurses” who support parishioners in a variety of ways. If you are ill or hospitalized and would like to receive a visit or prayer, please contact Ann in the church office. Contact info can be found down below.
