SJLC Response to Covid-19 (3/17/2020)

Dear Friends and Members of St. James,

I am so grateful for each of you! Your faithfulness to care for each other during this season of such uncertainty brings joy to my heart. As a church community, our commitment to each other is as to the Body of Christ. As you know, the country is responding to a growing concern about a novel virus. We want to be good neighbors to each other, to our community and to the world. We will abide by current guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) requesting no group assembly or public meetings.

Even though we are not able to meet at church together,

we can still BE CHURCH together!

At St. James, we have always known how to love and care for each other during difficult times. This is an opportunity for being even more deliberate to reach out to each other. Here are a few ways that we can stay connected in the weeks ahead.

You are not alone! Over the past few days, many people have contacted me offering to help to meet the needs of anyone in our church community. If you need help to get groceries, pick up medications or be transported for medical care or any other needs, please call the church.

Daily Devotions! We will continue our Seven Wonders of the World Lent devotional series. Everyone is welcome to join on weekdays at 11:00 AM on livestream from our church’s Facebook page. This is a public page that anyone can access---you do not need a Facebook account to view!

Our Church Website! We will use the website as another place for you to get updates and find important information. Especially, check out my blog for reflections/sermons, etc.

Sunday Morning Worship! We will try to livestream and to record a worship service each Sunday. If you do not have access to internet or computer, we can arrange to mail a DVD to your home. Please call Ann in the church office if you need to be added to the DVD distribution list.

Online Confirmation Class! Working on a very cool class to get our students through the spring and ready to be confirmed!

All will be well, brothers and sisters in Christ. We will get through this, together.

Stay close. Call each other often. Trust God in all things.
